PSHE

At our school, we are incredibly proud of offer of wider personal development of our pupils alongside the academic. 

Our Ofsted report in 2023 stated:

Pupils thrive at this small school with its caring, inclusive ethos. They describe the
staff as kind and supportive. Pupils are encouraged to live out the school s values of
kindness, honesty, respect, perseverance, courage, ambition ’’. In the weekly shine
assemblies, pupils celebrate each other s achievements with pride.

We use JIGSAW as a scheme to teach our PSHE and this ensures that it is progressive and well-sequenced. We supplement this with SMSC, Spirituality and British Values learning opportunities.

The link below gives details of what Primary schools have to teach and how  we plan our curriculum around this. Our policy and coverage is currently under review in preparation for the statutory changes which take effect from September 2026. This  will be ratified by the Governing body at our first meeting on 23rd September 2026 and will then be published on the website .
