World Religion Day - January 2017

We all celebrated World Religion Day and learnt about five different religions - Christianity, Buddhism, Sikhism, Hinduism and Islam. We worked in our house teams with each different teacher leading the learning for the workshop. The RE ambassadors led the session on Christianity. It was a really practical and hand on day of learning in school!

Surprise Visit from the Maasai Tribe

We were thrilled to receive a visit from seven Maasai warriors all the way from Kenya. We enjoyed learning about their culture through song, dance, storytelling, art and design.  We used this as a creative learning opportunity in school. All lessons were themed around their visit, planned by the teachers and children together during the day. Mrs Rowe kept all this a secret and what a surprise it was to us all. In George's words... " This is the most awesome assembly ever!"  We are developing  a link with a school in Kenya and will be doing some fundraising for the children at the school in Kenya.

Look closely at some of the children's faces when the Maasai enter our assembly... we will be adding more and more photos to this gallery over the next few days.

Flash Mob!

As a wedding gift, the children all surprised Miss Taberner with a flash mob. Take a look at video below! Thank you Miss Lane for organising and choreographing the dance. Good moves!
