This half term, Badgers will be covering to topic: Hola Mexico!
They will be learning about lots of different areas linked to Mexico, including:
History - Ancient Mayan Civilisation
Geography - Mexico (inc. Chihuahuan Desert)
Computing - Coding
RE - Incarnation: Was Jesus the Messiah?
Music - Ancient Mayan music
Art and DT - Sculptures, masks and patterns
PE - Real PE and netball
PSHCE - Living in the Wider World
Our class book for this half term will be 'The Boy at the Back of the Class'.
Spelling tests will continue to be on a Friday.
Homework will be set each Friday and due in the following Wednesday.
Children are expected to read a minimum of 5 times per week at home for a minimum of 15 minutes.
Heart dissection on 12/02/20
On Wednesday, Y6s will have the opportunity to take part in investigating and dissecting sheep hearts. I have explained this to the children and that it is optional - if they do not wish to take take they will not have to be in the room. Spring 1 - Blood Heart
Welcome back! I hope everyone has had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. This half term, Badgers will be covering the following topics:
Science – Circulatory system
RE – Creation and fall
PSHCE – Changes (health and wellbeing)
Art/ DT – Modelling and sculpture
Computing – Online safety
PE – Real PE and gymnastics
PPA – Forest Schools
Our class text for the half term will be 'Pig Heart Boy' by Malorie Blackman.
Spelling tests will continue to be each Friday and homework will be set on Fridays and due in the following Wednesday. Please ensure that your child reads five times per week and you sign their reading record. These will be checked each Monday.
Badgers will be looking at the topic, 'Frozen Kingdom' in Autumn 2. We will be reading 'Nevermoor' by Jessica Townsend.
