We place great emphasis on identifying special educational needs early so that we can help children as quickly as possible. Throughout the school year, all children within the school are assessed against either the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or the new National Curriculum requirements. Through these assessments it can be identified if a child needs additional support if there is a lack of progress or lower than expected assessment results. It may also be identified via a class teacher; parent/carer or learning support staff may raise a concern. The behaviour of a child may change or they child themselves may ask for help.
